Leinster backing for Oldcastle u-16 FT

The launch of the 2018 Leinster Gerry Reilly U-16 Football Tournament took place this evening in the Show Hall, Oldcastle.
The tournament is being run in conjunction with support from Leinster Council and this year will feature teams from 15 other counties along with Meath.
Meath Co Board chairman Peter O'Halloran congratulated the Oldcastle club and especially officials Eddie O'Reilly and Leo Halpin.
Leo Halpin outlined the history of the tournament and details about the late Gerry Reilly (see video clip attached to this story).
Games Development officer Jamie Queeney and Co Board official Brendan Cummins were also present and both acknowledged the tremendous benefit that the tournement provides.
Briody Bedding is the main sponsor of this year's competition and Oldcastle official Eddie O'Reilly hughlighted the importance of the support.

There will be 11 Leinster and five Ulster teams with Monaghan the defending champions. 

The quarter-fiinals, semi-finals and finals will be held in Oldcastle with the top two in each group will qualify for the last eight.
