Trim pram shop closure leaves mums-to-be down hundreds of euro

Mums-to-be who ordered prams and buggies online from a Trim-based company fear they’ll be left holding the baby after the company suddenly ceased trading.

The Meath Chronicle has been contacted by several expectant mothers who had ordered and paid for their prams online from the 'My Cosy Baby' website but have not received their orders.
A message on the 'My Cosy Baby' facebook page posted on Friday morning 26th January says: “Important Notice. It is with deepest regret that Leimak Leisure Limited trading as My Cosy Baby has ceased trading. Please check back to this page over the coming weeks for information on the appointed administrator.”
The My Cosy Baby unit on Haggard Street is now empty and is being advertised for letting while the company's website is “under construction”

Carri Connolly from Kingscourt is due her baby in seven weeks and was shocked to read about the company ceasing trading on the Meath Chronicle website last week. “I couldn't believe it. It's €500 we have to come up with again in such a short space of time,” said Carri, who paid a deposit on a Venice 3-in-1 and isofix base in October and paid the balance in December forking out €539.
Ineta Alisauskaite, who lives in Johnstown, Navan, is due her baby in a month's time and had to go out at the weekend and buy another pram. She ordered the Venice 3-in-1 on 10th January paying a total of €429.
