Meath manager Nick Fitzgerald with selectors Michael Kavanagh, Martin Comerford and Paul Reilly on duty at Trim on Saturday

Meath make changes for Dublin test

Meath hurlers will go into tomorrow night's Walsh Cup tie against Dublin at Abbotstown with nothing to lose and all to gain following Saturday's first round victory against Antrim at Trim.

Meath manager Nick Fitzgerald has resisted the opportunity to field the same starting 15 as he uses the Walsh Cup to assess his panel ahead of the opening round of the NHL Div 2A against KIldare at the end of the month.

For Dublin, this is a first official game for new manager Pat Gilroy and there will be expectations of a comfortable victory for Dublin among their supporters against a team that they wouldn't rate too highly.

Out from Saturday go Sean Geraghty, Niall Weir, Eoin Marsh, Colm O Mealoid, Cathal McCabe and Sean Quigley while Joey Keena and Shane Brennan who were brought on as substitutes get starts this time around.

The new faces are the quartet of Chris Lynch, Sean McGrath, Michael O'Grady and Paddy Conneely.

Throw-in at Abbotstown is at 8pm and there will be updates on Facebook and Twitter from the Meath Chronicle.

The Meath team is: Shane McGann (Kiltale); Chris Lynch (Longwood), Damien Healy (Longwood), Shane Brennan (Kilmessan); Sean McGrath (Dunboyne), Jack Regan (Kiltale), Keith Keoghan (Killyon);  Anthony Forde (Kiltale), Michael O’Grady (Dunboyne); James Kelly (Kiltale), Joey Keena (Kilmessan), James Toher (Trim); Adam Gannon (Killyon), Paddy Conneely (Kildalkey), Neil Heffernan (Trim).
