At about 6.20pm, the man pulled up beside the graveyard in his 142 D white Mercedes C220, which was facing in the Dublin direction. A red Toyota Yaris with a 05-D registration pulled in behind him and a man approached him from the passenger seat of this car. The victim thought the man was approaching him to shake his hand as he got out of the car but he punched him in the face.
The culprit, described as being about 5.11”, with short black hair and sallow skin, then got into the Mercedes and drove off in the Dublin direction.
The victim went and stood in front of the red Toyota to try to prevent the female driver from leaving the scene. However, she drove towards the victim forcing him onto the bonnet of the vehicle and took off at speed also in the Dublin direction.
She drove from side to side and braked suddenly several times to attempt to force the victim off the bonnet. There were also two children in the car at the time. One of the children is believed to be around seven years of age, and it is not known what age the other child was.
The woman is described as being aged in her 30s, heavy build with long brown hair.

The victim eventually came off the car in the vicinity of the The Country Store filling station on the Dublin Road and received a number of minor injuries when he fell to the road.
He was assisted by a passerby who stopped to help. The Toyota Yaris then followed the Mercedes in the Dublin direction.

The victim was extremely shaken by the ordeal but thankfully escaped with just minor injuries.
Earlier that evening between 4.30pm and 6.15pm number plates bearing 05-D were taken from a car parked at the The Old Forge housing estate, Dunshaughlin a short distance away, which may have been fitted to the red Auris.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of the graveyard in Dunshaughlin shortly after 6pm on Sunday evening 22 October, or on the Dublin Road who may have seen the white Mercedes C220 or a red Toyota Yaris car driving in the Dublin direction to contact Dunshauglin Garda Station on (01) 8258600 or (01) 8010600 or any Garda Station.
