Gavan Reilly will write for the Meath Chronicle

Gavan Reilly joins the Meath Chronicle

Kiltale journalist Gavan Reilly is joining the Meath Chronicle as a politics and current affairs columnist. Reilly (30) has just joined TV3 as political correspondent having moved from Today FM and Newstalk.

Reilly is fast becoming one of the country's most recognised and respected political and current affairs commentators having regularly served as guest presenter on Today FM's flagship drivetime programme, The Last Word and who was a regular contributor to TV3 programmes including Tonight with Vincent Browne.

Now TV3 has swooped to sign up the avid Manchester United and Meath GAA fan as the station expands its news division. It's been a hectic month for the journalist having married long-term love Ciara Brennan in Kilkenny at the start of the month and just days after announcing his high profile move to TV3.

“I've been living in Dublin for 13 years but am a proud Meath man so I'm really looking forward to writing on politics and current affairs for the Chronicle, the paper we always had in the house growing up.â€

Gavan Becton, editor, Meath Chronicle (pictured with Gavan Reilly) said: “We are thrilled Gavan has agreed to help build on the Meath Chronicle's coverage of politics and currrent affairs and follow how matters in Leinster House will affect the people of Meath.

“It's an exciting time in Irish political life and we are very happy Meath Chronicle readers will have Gavan's unique insight and opinion to read and share each week. Gavan's first column will appear next week.â€Â
