Gardai and public join forces on Facebook to apprehend burglary suspects near Ashbourne

Four males suspected of burglary in the county earlier today were apprehended in the Ashbourne/Curraha area by Gardai who took to Facebook seeking assistance from the public. 

Gardai said they were 'seeking anybody's help around the Tayto Park and Curraha area for five suspects. They have taken to the fields and are suspected to have been involved in burglaries in the area this afternoon.

'Get word to any farmers in the area to keep an eye out for them. The suspects were using a blue Volvo which has been recovered by Gardai. Ring 999 or 01-8010600 immediately if they are spotted.

Posted on the Meath Crime Prevention page and shared by over 500 followers, Gardai later posted an update stating that four males had been arrested while searches continued for a fifth man.

Earlier today, Gardai had also reported that four houses in kilmessan had been burgaled.
