Coyle upgraded to sixth at Rio Olympics

Natalya tweeted this evening:

I finished 6th in the OLYMPICS! A Chinese athlete was eliminated Rio. Bittersweet but delighted all the same.

Coyle was selected as Meath Sportsperson of the Year last January and on Monday she claimed Modern Pentathlon World Cup gold in Poland with partner Arthur Lanigan-O’Keeffe in the Mixed Relay event.

She was one of two Meath female athletes in action at the Olympic Games in Rio with Moynalvey woman Sara Treacy also competing.

At Rio, Coyle improved on her London 2012 finishing position, but still missed out on a medal with a seventh place, but now that has been upgraded to sixth.

The Modern Pentathlon in Rio was won by Chloe Esposito (Australia) ahead of Elodie Clouvel (France) and Oktawia Nowacka (Poland).
