Two Irish acting legends for Solstice

Two stalwarts of Irish theatre visit Solstice Arts Centre this Friday in 'The Quiet Land', a story of two elderly farmers struggling to survive in modern rural Ireland.
Derry Power and Des Keogh, both aged 82, have been on the road touring this humorous and touching two hander since 2016 and show no sign of slowing down any time soon. Power appeared in the first production of Brendan Behan's 'The Quare Fellow' at Dublin's Pike Theatre in 1954 and since then has appeared on stage, on TV and in film across many well-known productions and has graced almost every stage in Ireland.
Keogh boasts a similarly impressive resume, touring widely in the one-man show 'The Love-Hungry Farmer' and His film credits include Ryan's Daughter, Ulysses, and Flight of the Doves. For approximately 35 years, Keogh hosted a weekly radio program for RTÉ's Light Programme called 'Music for Middlebrows'.
Directed by Bairbre Ni Chaoimh, The Quiet Land is a celebration of the humour, resilience and endearing innocence of an older generation as it struggles to survive in the rural Ireland of today and takes place on Friday 19th May at 8pm in Solstice Arts Centre, Navan.
