Colin Keane and Ger Lyons.

Two trebles for Keane in two days

What a weekend, so far, for Trim jockey Colin Keane with a treble at Dundalk on Friday night and three more at Limerick yesterday and there is still action at Navan today and tomorrow where he could add to his impressive tally.

Currently the Meath man sits at the top of the table ahead of champion Pat Smullen on 10 winners for the season.

While Keane had two trebles, he partnred two doubles for his boss Ger Lyons at the two venues and the popular duo will be aiming for more early-season success at their local Navan track today where the action gets underway at 2.15pm.

Colin Keane will be on board a runner for his father, Gerry, in the opener on first-time-out Dandy Sue.

The way things can change quickly was very evident last night in the final race at Limerick when Keane was unseated on his way to start on the Iggy Madden-trained Bubbly Bellini and didn't get a run.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Spare a thought for the connections of Bottleofsmoke which made the long trek from Navan to Wolverhampton to run in the last race on the card there last night.

The Gavin Cromwell-trained 5/6 favourite was beaten by a neck. That's making it a long journey home for everyone.
