Chris Blaney set for Leicester Arena bout

Former Wolfe Tones player and now professional boxer Chris Blaney will be in action in a big bout this Saturday when he faces Christian Hoskin Gomez at the Leicester Arena in his first scheduled six-rounder.

The Navan middleweight is eager to face what will be a tough contest on a massive card on the BT Sport ‘City of Champions’ bill at the Leicester Arena.

It will be a tougher test than his last fight in February when Blaney - known as ‘the Ginger Ninja’ - faced a last-minute late replacement after numerous opponents
dropped out.

On that occasion he scored a comfortable knock-out win over Adrian Parlogea on the Red Corner ‘Unfinished Business bill in Dublin.

Blaney is looking forward to the occasion and told irish-boxing.com

“I’d like to think I’d prefer the longer rounds, it suits my style more.”

“We have always been working for six rounds in the gym, so it shouldn’t be to different from four rounds.”

There is a special T-shirt for the occasion with support from a number of local business people around the Navan area (see photos of front and back).
