Avoca to sponsor Easter Monday race

Newly-opened Avoca is to sponsor the Grade 2 Avoca Dunboyne Hurdle on Easter Monday, April 17th. The €50,000 race forms part of the second day of the Fairyhouse Easter Festival weekend, which takes place from 16th to 18th April.

This race has an excellent history of producing top quality horses, won last year by Slowmotion in the colours of JP McManus, trained by Aidan O’Brien and ridden by local man Barry Geraghty. Other winners included the Willie Mullins-trained pair of Business Sivola in 2015 and Ivan Grozny in 2014.

Maoliosa Connell, Marketing Manager for Avoca, said: “Avoca are delighted to be sponsoring over the Easter weekend at Fairyhouse.  We look forward to welcoming all of their customers in to our newly opened Avoca Dunboyne store, which promises to be a unique experience and offers something for everyone.”

Peter Roe, Manager at Fairyhouse Racecourse, said: “We are delighted to welcome Avoca Dunboyne as sponsors of the Grade 2 Avoca Dunboyne Hurdle on Easter Monday. We wish them every success with the opening of their new store in Dunboyne and look forward to developing a great relationship with our new neighbours for many years to come.”
