What logo will the Meath footballers have on their jerseys in 2017 when the O'Byrne Cup gets under way early in January?

According to Co Board officials an announcement will be made at the annual convention on Monday 12th December, but before that there is the annual raceday at Fairyhouse on Sunday 4th December.

The O'Byrne Cup and the Walsh Cup in football and hurling will be the main guide for Meath GAA supporters in a few weeks time when the traditional pre-season Leinster Council tournaments get under way from 8th January.

The schedule of fixtures will be available this week and official training can resume for the footballers from 1st December.

Meath footballers will face Laois, Wicklow and DIT in a four-team O'Byrne Cup group that will enable manager Andy McEntee make some early assessments ahead of the start of the NFL Div 2 campaign.

Meath hurlers will play in the Walsh Cup again this year after an encouraging return to the higher grade in 2015.

Meath hurlers will face IT Carlow, Kildare and Offaly in the Walsh Cup - probably on 15th, 22nd and 29th January but the dates are not confirmed yet.
