Martin Ennis gearing up for hurling campaign

Meath hurling manager Martin Ennis will be stepping up his preparations for the 2017 campaign in the weeks leading up to Christmas with Walsh Cup, NHL and Leinster SHC challenges on the horizon.

Meath will begin their Walsh Cup campaign in January after an encouraging display this year on their return to the higher grade pre-season competiton after winning the Kehoe Cup for the previous three years.

The fixtures for the Walsh Cup will be finalised in the next week or so, but Meath fixtures are likely to take place on 15th, 22nd and 29th January.

The NHL Div 2B will begin on 12th February at home to Down; 19th February home to Derry; 4th March away to Roscommon; 11th March home to Mayo and 26th March home to Wicklow. The top two will qualify for the final.

In the Leinster SHC Meath will host Kerry in Navan on 23rd April, Laois in Navan on 30th April and away to Westmeath on 14th May. The top two in the four-team qualifier group will qualify for the Leinster SHC quarter-finals.
