Follow events at Pairc Tailteann on Keegan Cup final day

The Meath Chronicle will have reporters in Páirc Táilteann tomorrow from midday for the big club football day of the year - the Keegan Cup final between Simonstown Gaels and Donaghmore / Ashbourne at 3pm.

The day will start with the MFC final at 12.15 between Na Fianna and St Colmcille's.

There will be a lot of pageantry before the big game with a commemorative event, 'Laochra na Mi', to mark the Centenary of 1916 at 1.45pm - after the minor final presentation.

The event will honour the four Meath men who died in the Rising - James Fox (Drumree), Philip Clarke (Rossin), Thomas Allen (Longwood) and James McCormack (Gormanston) and will take place after the minor final from 1.45pm.

The Battle of Ashbourne Centenary Commemoration Committee will also participate.

Meath Co Board chairman Conor Tormey will unveil a plaque.

Sean Boylan, son of Sean Boylan, IRB leader in 1916, will lay a wreath.

There will be the traditional ceremonial throw-in for the SFC final and that will be performed by the legendary Frankie Byrne.

The Meath Chronicle will provide live coverage of the events via the Meath Chronicle Facebook page - if you are unable to attend or are abroad you will be able to keep an eye on what is going on.

It is also intended to provide live the closing minutes of the senior final - all subject to wifi and the usual issues involved with that.

Updates will also be provided on twitter and a report of the game and video from the presentation will be on www.meathchronicle.ie promptly after the game.
