Trim and Kildalkey advance to SHC semi-finals

Trim and Kildalkey booked their places in the SHC semi-finals this evening with comfortable victories over Blackhall Gaels and Dunboyne respectively at Pairc Tailteann.

Kildalkey got proceedings underway at headquarters and produced strong finished to both halves to secure a 4-18 to 0-15 win over Dunboyne.

The former three-in-a-row champions led by 0-9 to 0-5 at half time and cutloose in the second period with goals from former Dunboyne player Gary Watters, Sean Heavey, an own goal from Liam Kane and a late fourth from Conor Kearney sealing the semi-final spot against Kiltale.

Trim dominated the second game on the bill at Pairc Tailteann as James Toher contributed 1-10 to the winners 3-20 to 1-12 success.

All three of Trim's goals game in the final seven minutes of the first-half. Toher started the goal rush when his sideline cut deceived goalkeeper Paul Kelly and ended up in the net. Meath minor Mikey Cullen bagged goal number two before Alan Douglas claimed the third to ensure a 3-10 to 0-7 interval lead for Trim.

Intensity and interest dipped after the break as Trim coasted to the win and a semi-final meeting with Killyon.
