Comfortable for Summerhill

Following their defeat to Dunboyne last week Summerhill got back to winning ways when they defeated Duleek/Bellewstown 1-16 to 0-9 at Dunsany today.

John Lyons (pictured) team showed the way from start to finish.

They were ahead 0-8 to 0-4 at the break and they didn't need to get out of second gear to push and on win with plenty to spare.

The only goal of the game arrived just before the end when one of Summerhill's most impressive performers, Barry Dardis, directed a neat pass to substitute Bobby Lyons and he finished to the net from close range.

Seven Summerhill players got on the scoresheet with Micheal Byrne, Padraig Geraghty, Davy Larkin and Dardis helping themselves to three points apiece.

It took Duleek/Bellewstown 21 minutes to garner their opening score, a well-taken point from one of their best performers John Flood who ended up with two points. Stephen McArdle and Conal McGinley ended up with the same tally.

Summerhill push on but Duleek/Bellewstown are now facing a relegation battle.
