Men arrested following Blackcastle burglary

Navan Gardai have arrested three males following a burglary at Blackcastle Shopping Centre in the early hours of this morning.

Shortly after 1am Gardaí received a call that a burglary had occurred at a premises in Blackcastle Shopping Centre, Navan.

They went to the scene and observed a car acting suspiciously being driven by one male, two more males jumped into the car and left the scene in the direction of Slane.

The car was later stopped on the Slane Road by other units from Navan Garda station. Three males, two aged 17 and one aged 22, were arrested and are being detained at Navan Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

During the burglary the shutter of the local launderette and front window were damaged and a small sum of cash and clothing was taken. No staff were in the shop at the time of the incident.

Investigations are on going.
