Syd Arthur for Workman's Club

Syd Arthur, who release their new album ‘Apricity’ through Communion Music on 21st October, have confirmed a headline tour in October and November. The tour will be the band’s first nationwide run since sold-out dates in 2014. Syd Arthur, who are confirmed as special guests on White Denim’s UK tour in October and Jake Bugg’s US tour in September, will release their new single ‘Sun Rays’ on 26th August.

Recorded at Jonathan Wilson’s studio in Echo Park and co-produced by Jason Falkner (Beck, Jellyfish), ‘Apricity’ is the band’s first album through Communion Music and is available for pre-order. Syd Arthur recently unveiled the video to title track ‘Apricity’. Shot on location in the Kent countryside and co-directed and conceptualised by singer Liam Magill, the video premiered on Vevo.

This album is the distillation of everything we have been exploring in our music up until now, says the band. “It points forward into a (brave) new world of sonic development for us - in the songwriting and scope of what we are trying to achieve. It seems like only a few weeks back we set off to Los Angeles to record with Jason Falkner at our friend Jonathan Wilson's amazing studio in Echo Park. Recording to two-inch analogue tape we set about recording the album in this most creative Californian space before returning to the UK for final mixing at our humble studio in Canterbury.”

Syd Arthur is brothers Liam Magill (vocals, guitar), Joel Magill (bass, vocals), and Josh Magill (drums) and Raven Bush (keyboards, strings). Hailing from Canterbury, the band has released three albums, including 2014’s critically acclaimed Sound Mirror and earned recognition as a thrilling live act. Syd Arthur has played myriad UK headline shows and support slots alongside such artists as The Strokes, White Denim, Jonathan Wilson, The Pixies, Sean Lennon’s The Ghost Of A Sabertooth Tiger and Paul Weller.
