Contents auction at Sheilagh Germain's house

Matthews of Oldcastle will conduct an on the premises clearance auction this Sunday July 17th, the contents of Mrs Sheilagh Germain's St Lawrence House, Bailieboro, at 2pm.

Mrs Germain, a local woman, now deceased, was well-respected in the area for her charitable and philanthropic work. She left Bailieboro as a young woman and made her life in Manhattan, where she became a very successful businesswoman. Twice yearly she returned to the area and never forgot her roots. A collector who loved life, she was well-known for her generosity and acts of kindness to the area.

The house will be open for public viewing of the contents this Friday and Saturday from 11am - 5pm and all day Sunday from 10am. Auctioneer Damien Matthews states that it is an eclectic collection, 'but of quality, with tastes for everyone.

He said: 'We expect a good interest as there really is a large quantity of things to be sold.'
