NAVAN DARTS: Round O squander lead

The action resumed in the Navan & District Darts League last night and the Old Bridge Inn travelled up Flowerhill to the Round O for a top of the table Div 1 encunter and staged a remarkable recovery as the hosts 'blew' a big lead.

The Bridge A team only needed a draw to top the league, but they looked dead and buried when Stephen Kells lost (2-3) to Paul O'Rourke.

It got worse when Pat McGowan lost to the impressive Terry Bellew (0-3) and Ronan Barron went down (2-3) to Ross Clarke to leave Round O 3-0 ahead at the half way stage.

However, there was a comeback on the cards when Fergus McKeown took the spoils by 3-0 against Conor Collins and the dependable John McLoughlin posed to many questions for Mark Costello to win by 3-2.

In the final game Stephen Kells junior took out Des Keegan by 3-2 to take the point and top the table

Elsewhere Teach na Teamhrach went down the road to the Old Bridge Inn to play the B team and it ended in a 3-3 draw also.

The draws for the next stage will take place next week.
