Meath ladies lose to Donegal

Despite a brave performance at Trim on Sunday, Meath ladies lost in the NFL Div 2 against Donegal although they were well in contention at the interval with a three-point deficit (3-3 to 1-12).

Meath enjoyed a good spell early in the second half, but Donegal pulled ahead and ended the game the stronger to win by nine points by 3-17 to 3-8.

However, this was a much improved performance and Meath can take great pride in the commitment, effort and determination on display.

The return to the Senior panel of Niamh O’Sullivan and the introduction of Seneschalstown’s Amy Gilsenan to Senior inter county action is a plus.

Meath will travel to Westmeath next Sunday to take on last year’s Leinster Senior Championship finalists.

Meath - Louise Dunne; Aideen Guy, Hannah Heskin, Orla Byrne; Shauna Ennis, Paula Dunne, Síofra Cleary; Bláthnaid Keogh (0-3), Niamh O’Sullivan; Stacey Grimes (0-2), Vikki Wall (1-1), Niamh Gallogly (0-1); Ailbhe McHugh (1-1), Kate Byrne (1-0), Julie Donnellan.
