Joe Molloy and Andrew Maxwell.

Sin bins cheeky look at rugby world cup

Top comedian Andrew Maxwell and Off The Ball presenter Joe Molloy are the hosts of a new entertainment show starting tomorrow (Thursday 10th September) on TV3. Live at 10pm every Thursday for six weeks, The Sin Bin will be the cheeky, topical entertainment show to catch during the Rugby World Cup.

Joining Andrew and Joe in the studio will be some of the biggest names in world rugby, as well as some familiar faces from the world of comedy and screen. Former Ireland hooker Keith Wood and UK comedian Mark Watson are the special guests on tomorrow night’s show with Brian Moore, Bressie, Stephen Ferris and Tommy O’Donnell confirmed as other guests to appear in the coming weeks. This is the show where every funny, contentious, or off the ball moment of the tournament will be ripped apart and thrown into our comedic half hour mix. And there’ll be a special on the road crew to sample all the tension and exhilaration on the streets and at the games.

Within each show, Heineken, official sponsor of Rugby World Cup 2015, will also give one lucky audience member the chance of a lifetime to travel to the Rugby World Cup to attend the coin flip before an Ireland game.

Joe Molloy remarked: 'I can't wait for the series and the tournament itself to get going. There's always huge hype around a World Cup and particularly this year with everyone so eerily confident in our chances of doing well. I'm massively excited to be doing live TV, Andrew is a mad genius and we've got some brilliant guests lined up over the next six weeks too.'

Andrew Maxwell is also looking forward to working with co-host Joe: “It’s going to be great. I was going to be watching the Rugby World Cup anyway so instead of sitting on my own couch I’ll just be sitting on a more brightly lit couch! I’m looking forward to working with Joe. I listen to his show all the time when I’m on tour around the country and I’m just relieved that he’s gonna know more than me on all things rugby”!

Keith Wood, who will be joining Molloy on-air in the first episode of the Sin Bin part series, said: “What really excites me about going on The Sin Bin is that it isn’t just teams and tactics, I’m looking forward to joining in with the banter and looking at Rugby World Cup 2015 from a totally different angle.”

‘The Sin Bin’ starts this Thursday (10th September) at 10pm on TV3
