Young artist to exhibit faces of trim

The 'Faces of Trim’ Art Exhibition by James McQuade a 16 year-old transition year student from Trim, opens in St Patrick’s Parochial Hall, Trim, on Friday 4th September at 7.30pm. The exhibition continues until Sunday, 6th September and is open daily between 10am and 8pm.
This will be the young artist’s first exhibition and will consist of some 35 framed portraits drawn in pencil and charcoal of well known 'faces’ of Trim such as Ray Butler TD, Thomas Potterton, estate agent, Thomas Lenihan of James Griffin public house, CJ Murtagh of Ted Murtagh’s Sports Shop, Pearse Murphy of Trim Hardware and DIY, butcher Declan Coogan, Pat O’Byrne of Pat O’Byrne Menswear, montessori teacher Martina Quinn and Maureen Dempsey.
Many other well-known faces from the religious, educational, commercial and legal profession very kindly offered themselves as subjects all of whom were first photographed and then drawn by James.
In addition, the exhibition will feature many other highly recognisable 'ordinary’ citizens of the town who, whilst they might not consider themselves 'faces of Trim’ are undoubtedly very well known by their fellow citizens.
All of the works will be on sale and available for collection after the exhibition closes.
The subjects will of course be offered first refusal of their own portrait. A limited number of prints will also be available for any of the more popular works. Some of the portraits which have already been completed have been highly praised by those local townspeople who have had an opportunity to view them.
Many of the works can be viewed on James’s Facebook page at 'James McQuade Art’.
James has also produced a 2016 calendar featuring his portraits and this will be on sale at the exhibition.
