Gaeil colmcille keep obanking365n winning

Gaeil Colmcille produced a solid display at Walterstown this evening where they took the SFC points following an exciting and entertaining joust with Blackhall Gaels as they won by four points (1-15 to 1-11).

This wasn't an easy victory and Gaeil Colmcille had to dig deep to carve out the win as they stood strong against a mighty second-half Blackhall onslaught.

Leading by 1-13 to 1-6 with 16 minutes remaining Gaeil Colmcille were pegged back when the Gaels, boosted by the introductuion of substitute Graham Dillon, reeled off five unanswered points to reduce the deficit to two with seven minutes remaining.

That was a real test for Gaeil Colmcille who found the answers with late points from Brian Hanlon and, the insurance score, from corner back Cormac Ferguson.

The return from the USA of Oisin Reilly and Seamus Mattimoe this week was also crucial and both were included from the start although Reilly limped out of the action at half-time.

Gaeil Colmcille were ahead by 1-9 to 1-5 at the interval, but they missed many chances in that opening half and that's one aspect they will have to work on before the next round.

For Blackhall Gaels, they could yet end up in a relegation battle.
