Nefl soccer season set for augusf
The first full season of the North East Football League (formerly Meath & District League) will kick-off on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 7th, 8th and 9th August next with the first action confined to the traditional start-of-season Shield competitions.
The action across the five separate divisions, Premier, Div 1, Div 2, Div 3 and Div 4 will kick-off the following weekend with a full series of games scheduled for the 57 affiliated teams.
There are a number of new teams this season, but included in that category are former members Kells Celtic and Chord Celtic from Drogheda.
The NEFL has also added a new Youth League which will enable some of the top young players at that age group to compete locally instead of facing a trip to Dublin every other weekend.
Nine teams have affiliated although it is understood that a number of of Meath clubs have entered teams in a Dublin League.
