Draw sets up dublin visit to navan

Meath earned a 1-14 apiece draw in tonight's O'Byrne Cup third round tie against DCU at Pairc Tailteann in front of an estimated crowd of 1,000 on a very cold evening.

Meath were ahead by 1-7 to 0-6 at the interval with the goal coming from David Bray scarcely a minute into the game.

Mark O'Sullivan sent over three frees while Graham Reilly (two), Bray and Donncha Tobin completed the points tally for Meath.

Former Meath manager Sean Boylan was on the DCU sideline.

The students got back into contention and had a goal only 25 seconds after the resumption when Conor McGraynor rifled to the net.

DCU were 1-13 to 1-10 ahead with 15 minutes remaining, but Meath kept picking off the scores and took a 1-14 to 1-13 lead on 70 minutes only for DCU to peg it back in added time.

Meath's second-half scorers were substitute Bryan Menton (two), Mark O'Sullivan (two frees), David Bray, Joey Wallace and Graham Reilly.

Meath will host Dublin in the semi-final next weekend - at the moment the game is scheduled for Sunday 2pm in Páirc Tailteann.
