Duleek hit five past a vulnerable trim celtic side

With the help of hat-trick from striker Barry Kavanagh Duleek chalked up a big 5-0 victory over Trim Celtic in the MDL Premier at the Tollstone today.

Managed by Trevor Molloy who turned out for a host of clubs during a varied playing career including St Patrick’s Athletic, Shamrock Rovers, Bohemians, Carlisle and Motherwell the home side were much sharper in front of goals.

Molloy is also playing with Duleek this season and he put his stamp on this game early on with two goals inside the opening nine minutes that provided his side with a perfect platform to go on and win.

All Kavanagh’s goals were in the second-half two of them from close range and his third in injury time from a superbly struck free on the edge of the box.

Richie Fitzsimons’ Trim side had enjoyed a considerable amount of possession but they were unable to crate many clear-cut opportunities.

Derek Donohoe went closest to finding the net for the visitors although they were no more than half chances while Darragh Scannell also shot over.
