Kells hits the silver screen

The debut feature film of Kells cinematographer, Jass Foley, has hit the international festival circuit and is already garnering awards overseas.

The Hit Producer, a crime thriller, won eight awards at the Indiefest Film Awards in California including Best Actress (Michelle Doherty), Best Actor (Neil Fleming) and Cinematography (Jass Foley).

The film was shot in Kells, Dublin, Kilkenny and Wicklow.

'I was very proud to bring some of the production to Kells. The cooperation and support of the local community made it a wonderful experience and obviously makes The Hit Producer particularly special to me,' he said.

The film features an extensive cast who have previously featured in Father Ted, Game of Thrones, Batman Begins, Intermission, Vikings and Fair City.

A special private screening of the film will take place at Kells Theatre on 27th September 27th at 7pm.
