Nine screen cinema for dan shaw road

Plans for a nine screen cinema at the Dan Shaw Road in Navan have been lodged with Meath County Council.
Navan Co-ownership have lodged an application for planning permission for the development, which is believed to be part of an overall masterplan for the area zoned ‘town centre’ which is bounded by the Trim Road, Dan Shaw Road and Carriage Road.
Permission is sought for a nine screen cinema with a total of 1,282 seats, ticket office, shop and foyer area, ancillary customer and staff facilities; a cafe and five retail units.
It is believed the developers have already negotiated a deal with a large cinema operator and are ready to proceed with the project once planning permission is obtained.
The area is question is zoned town centre and is expected to be developed over a lengthy period of time, starting with leisure facilities and eventually with shopping outlets.
Meanwhile planning permission for a separate cinema complex at the Navan Retail Park which was granted to Omniplex holdings last June is the subject of an appeal to An Bord Pleanala.
