Kathy Crinion's US success

Trim singer/songwriter Kathy Crinion has entered the US National Airplay Charts with her self-penned debut single ‘We Need More Time’, crashing in at number 118 on the general airplay and at a staggering number 14 on the Indie Airplay listings.
Kathy, co-managed by DEE Artist Agency (Ireland) and Star One Entertainment (USA) has just released her album ‘Ups Downs and Merry Go Rounds’ (Star1 Records). No stranger to the music scene as a well-known performer and vocal coach, Kathy has already attracted the attention of top resort bosses in the US with her velvet like vocals reminiscent of Karen Carpenter.
She has worked in the music industry in various guises for the past 25 years, and performed for the late Princess Margaret in Liverpool’s Grand Town Hall.  She is also a published children’s author. ‘What will we do today?’ was written as an educational tool for children to learn the days of the week. The book has been used in many school and county libraries. She is also an experienced educator having worked in mainstream schools as a substitute teacher and adult/Fetac education tutor.  A skilled musician and teacher with a bachelor of arts degree and qualifications in psychotherapy, Kathy has also branched out into the world of vocal coaching.
Kathy is also an experienced recording artist having worked as a backing vocalist in Boyne Recording studios, Slane, in the early 90s, up to the recording of her current album ‘Ups, Downs & Merry-Go-Rounds’. She worked with some well known names in the Irish music industry for this project.
Kathy has also wrote most of the tracks for the album and co-wrote a song called ‘Wouldn’t change a thing’ with Charlie McGettigan. The album also sees the songwriting skills of Blues musician Don Baker and folk singer/songwriter Gerry Tully and a beautiful duet called ‘Too Close’ by Frank Foley, with country singer Trevor Smith.
It was recorded in Jam Studios, Kells arranged by Ken Gillick and produced and engineered by Martin Quinn. Other musicians on the album are Martin Quinn on bass, guitars, keyboards and backing vocals, Andrew Quinn on drums, John Byrne on saxophone and Simon Fagan on trumpet.
