YGH

Duleek

YGH is a self-professed “fun-filled salon where clients come to relax and enjoy their time out”. The award-winning Duleek outlet was established in 2006 by Jennifer Byrne, who has over 25 years’ experience in the trade. According to Jennifer: “Education, training and personal development is a vital element in our success formula. Success takes time and should never be taken for granted.” Each of the 10 employees participates in a weekly in-house training to learn and develop new skills.

Standing for Your Gorgeous Hair, YGH strives for continued perfection takes part in a mystery shopper programme twice a year that “provides our team with valuable feedback, good and bad, identifying areas where service levels need to be reinforced and/or improved upon”. YGH knows that people need value for money in these recessionary times and works through social media platforms to deliver varied special offers each week. One of the popular offers is the ‘Beat the Clock’. Customers pay according to the time, so if it’s 10am, then a blow-dry is €10 and so on. Jennifer explains: “In times of economic hardship, people crave small indulgences.

A visit to the salon should represent a good feeling and our primary goal is to provide every client with a memorable experience they’ll be eager to share with family and friends.” With such efforts on offers, it really does pay to let your hair down at YGH!

Ischia Hair and Beauty

Johnstown Shopping Centre, Navan

Ischia in Navan knows the importance that hair can play in instilling self-confidence and inner wellbeing. It was for this reason that owner Sinead Monaghan decided to extend her successful business to cater for people undergoing cancer treatment or those with other conditions causing hair loss. After extensive training alongside colleague Aine Grall, Sinead now offers a wig service with an extensive selection of synthetic and human hair wigs.

The Johnstown Shopping Centre salon also has wigs, scarves and turbans that are fitted and personalised to suit each individual client. Sinead said: “I felt this was a very important service for us to offer and be able to help people within our community with what can be a sensitive condition. “It’s about giving our clients hair that not only looks and feels natural but attractive and feminine which we hope, in some small way, helps them face the world with a new found confidence.”

Sinead has installed a dedicated consultation room at her salon and works closely with oncology departments and private cancer centres locally to ensure her service offers a comprehensive and sensitive approach. Opened over 10 years ago, Ischia has also become the go-to place in the locality for anyone wishing to address their tresses in modern surroundings and with an old-fashioned welcome.

Envy Hair & Beauty Salon

Dunboyne

Envy Hair and Beauty Salon in Dunboyne is all about offering clients a bit of ‘me time’ to look and feel fantastic. Customer-service is really a cut above the rest at Envy, which operates a loyalty card system, sends birthday wishes by text and contact clients within 48 hours of a treatment for feedback.

The salon has worked hard to market their services and, according to manager Emma McHugh: “We understand the importance of marketing in establishing a foothold in the community and in building relationships with the local population.” Opened last year in Dunboyne, the salon also incorporates beauty rooms, nail bars and tanning rooms for an all-over five-star experience at affordable prices. Working with professional ranges such as Dermalogica and Moroccan Oil, Emma says: “We are constantly researching and sourcing new products and treatments to add to our range in order to make our clients look and feel great. “We have the confidence in our team’s ability to impress clients with their professionalism, hospitality and knowledge to successfully convert newcomers to loyal patrons.”

Can’t get time during the day to get your hair done? That’s no problem to this salon which can schedule early-morning or late-evening appointments. The salon is so customer-orientated that you don’t really have an excuse to deny yourself an envy-able experience!
