Lady driver causes Kehoe Cup panic

There was an urgent announcement over the public address at trim this afternoon after some of the eagle-eyed stewards on duty noticed that a non-Meath registered vehicle was blocking the ambulance access to the pitch ahead of the start of the kehoe Cup.

Unfortunately, the same eagle-eyed stewards were on a tea break when the vehicle was parked initially.

Some officials were perplexed about the matter as there is a large sign on the gate (see photo) that urges patrons not to park in that area.

Trim clubman Sean Gilsenan made a polite plea over the public address for the owner of the vehicle to remove it immediately and within seconds a female was seen running towards the vehicle and moving it.

That prompted the very pleasant Trim PA announcer to comment - 'Thank you very much for moving the vehicle' - he also added a few more words, but only after he had switched off the PA system.

The game started late - about 10 minutes behind schedule - but that was due to the late arrival of the St Patrick's team.

According to Meath Hurling PRO Ray Kirby, they were late because they had experienced 'travel problems' - perhaps a car had blocked their exit from St Patrick's in Dublin when they were ready to depart for Trim?
