Local calendar a must for Meath sports enthusiasts

Sport Through the Years is the theme of the 2014 calendar from St Ultan’s Historical Society, an item that is sure to be popular in local households and further afield this Christmas.

St Ultan’s Historical Society covers the Bohermeen, Boyerstown and Cortown districts and was formed in 2011 with the aim of researching, recording and making public the history of the local community.

The theme of this year’s calendar is a reflection on sport over the past 140 years during which the community has been blessed with some of the most outstanding individuals and teams who have brought both county, provincial, national and international honours to the community.

Members of the St Ultans Historical Society at the launch included Fiona Murtagh and Rosaleen Fagan, grandaughters of Pat Coyle the1920s Irish national cross-country champion, Fr Andy Doyle, Noel French, Henry O’Callaghan, Frances Tallon, Mairead McMahon, Rose Lynskey, Joseph Reilly, Tony Coyne, Terry Curry, Sean Fitzsimons, Richard Brady and Stephen Ball.
