Kiltale take the minor title

Kiltale won the MHC title with plenty to spare in the decider this afternoon at Kilmessan where they recorded a 4-10 to 0-4 victory over Kildalkey.

It was easy as the scoreboard suggests for Kiltale who were ahead by 1-4 to 0-2 at the interval and had to play for most of the game with 14 after Conor Shirren picked up a second yellow card in the 22nd minute.

The players had to cope with difficult enough underfoot conditions and Kildalkey kept battling even when it was quite clear that they would not be in contention.

Kiltale were strong in all departments and were worthy winners.

The outstanding matter of the u-21 HC decider from last week - Kiltale did not field a team for the game - the matter was discussed by the Meath CCC midweek, but no decision was made and further information is awaited on the likely outcome of the deliberations.
