Quick Jack lives up to name

The fact that Ruby Walsh made what is now a rare visit to England should have been sufficient to get the money on the the Tony Martin-trained Quick Jack in the last at Cheltenham yesterday.

The four-year-old which is owned by John Breslin from Kells justified support at the track and won the Countryside Raceday Novices' Handicap Hurdle after making progress from three out.

Walsh hit the front at the last hurdle and had more than two lengths to spare at the post.

At Dundalk on the flat last night Colin Keane added another winner to his impressive tally this season and has now 35 winners to his credit.

Local trainers Ger Lyons and Peter Casey were also on the mark.
