O'Rourke returns for Meath

Shane O’Rourke and David Bray returned to action for Meath last night as preparations for 2014 continued with a 2-14 to 0-8 victory over Kildare in a SF trial match at Kilcock on Wednesday evening last.

Details regarding the match are scarce, but Meath did lead by 1-5 to 0-6 at half-time with the returning O’Rourke bagging a scrappy goal.

The Simonstown man’s midfield partner, Skryne’s Harry Rooney, netted the second goal after the break as a team made up of mainly u-21 players strolled to a comfortable victory.

Donaghmore/Ashbourne’s Sean Curran allegedly had an excellent game, while Dunboyne’s Donal Lenihan and Navan O’Mahonys’ Shane Gillespie are also said to have impressed.

Blackhall Gaels' Donncha Tobin is also back in the fold having returned from his travels.

Others like Castletown's Gerard Farrelly and Kevin Ross, St Vincent's Martin Fox, Na Fianna's Michael Farely and Curraha's Neil Shortall are all rumoured to have made an appearance.
