MDL Sunday round up

All the action from MDL games on Sunday involving Meath teams.

PREMIER                                              
Longwood 3, Rock Celtic 9
Longwood opened the scoring after just 12 seconds through Ryan Keenan and Daryl O’Brien doubled their lead five minutes later. Then the heavens opened and Rock showed why they are the champions with a hat-trick from Derek Delaney, A brace from Kevin McArdle and Ger McSorley, with David Ward and Aidan Sheehy adding to the big scoreline. Ryan Keenan netted his second late on.  
Navan Cosmos 8, Quay Celtic 0
Lee Duffy produced plenty of magic by scoring five goals for Cosmos. Conor Walsh added two more with captain Sean Conaty finishing off the scoreline.

DIVISION 1
Kentstown Rovers 10, Kells Celtic 0
Aled Ingman tore up the record books as he became the first ever player in MDL history to score eight goals in one match. Ingman beat the previous record of seven and it will be a long time before it is broken again. David Bowens and Paul McDonnell added two more late on to leave Kells with a double scoreline.
Newfoundwell 2, Carrick Rovers 2
Carrick picked up a point away to title contenders Newfoundwell through goals from Eamonn Lynch and Brian Marron. Karl Dyas and Carl Brannigan scored for the home side but they couldn’t find a winner as Carrick deservedly left with a point.
Slane Wanderers 0, Boca Rovers 3
Stephen Gavin opened the scoring before John Power added a second for Boca in the second half. David Connolly got Boca’s third to keep Mark Jacob’s men in the hunt for promotion.
Square Utd 4, Navan Town 1  
Square continue to motor along in Div 1 with a fine win over Navan Town. Johnny Sheridan scored first before a Derek Minogue brace and a Brian Corcoran goal killed them off, Adrian Dowdall got Navan Town’s reply.

DIVISION 2
Athboy Celtic 2, Newtown Utd 1
The return of Gary Ennis proved the right choice as he scored today against Newtown in their win. Gary Kelly added a second to secure it for Athboy. Substitute Sean Weldon pulled one back for the visitors but it just was a consolation.
Robinstown 2, Oldcastle Utd 2
Robinstown battled back to claim a point against Oldcastle who have been in fine form. Stephen Markey and Brian Brerton scored for the home side while Nathan Doyle’s double for Oldcastle ensured a share of the spoils.
Torro Utd 1, Kingscourt Harps 4
Kingscourt rollercoaster ride continues as they won at Torro. Goals from Cian Farrelly, Danny Hand and a double from Tommy Carroll guaranteed the points for the Cavan men. Torro replied through Peader Farrelly’s free Kick.
Cavan Town 3, Johnstown 1    
Cavan’s form continues as they beat high-flyers Johnstown at home. Kevin Morris, Tony Pryce and Brendan Smith grabbed the goals for Cavan while Johnstown’s only reply was from Kacper Zebereck.
                                                                   
DIVISION 3       
Ballyjamesduff Utd 4, Kilmessan 2
BJD Utd secured their second win in a row with goals from Lindo Majola, Eder Almeida, Robert Strizelecki and Djama Pereira. Kilmessan pulled two goals back through Robbie Maguire and the prolific Dermot Maguire.
Kells/Blackwater 3, Laurence’s 5  
Laurence’s edged this eight goal thriller with Sean Callaghan hat-trick, Kenneth Wall and Glanmor Rath goals. Kells hit back with Eugene Beggy and Keith Scanlons double.
Rathkenny Rovers 3, BJD Celtic 0
BJD had no reply for Rathkenny as they were swept aside today. James Mackin’s brace and Jack Gore’s goals were enough to secure all three points for the home side.
Trim Town 3, Bohermeen Celtic 3  
Bohermeen claimed a valuble point away from home as they look for promotion. Keith Murray’s double and Barry Allen goals got them their point while Trim Town scored through Martin Costello, Dean Courtney and Johnny Corrigan.
Enfield Celtic 4, Boyne Valley 0
Enfield derailed the Boyne train today with a massive win here, David Morgan’s brace got Enfield going before further goals from Richie Massey and Conor Geraghty made sure all three points stayed in Meath.
DIVISION 4    
Park Celtic Summerhill 0, Termonfeckin Celtic 7
League favorites Termonfeckin showed why they will be in the hunt for top spot with a demolition job in Summerhill, Karl McDonald bagged a hat-trick. Brian Devlin added a brace and Niall Devlin and Sean McBride also got in on the act .
Grove Rangers 5, Dunshaughlin Youths 0
A Matthew Hengst hat-trick set Grove on their way before Gavin Thornton and Daragh Brannigan made sure that Grove got all three points in this Div 4 match.
Rossin 6, BMC Utd 1   
BMC got caught playing Rossin roulette today as Rovers made easy work of BMC. Damien O’Brien got himself four while Dylan Maguire got two to keep Rossin in the hunt for a league title. Alan Reilly scored late on but it didn’t matter as the points were safe for Rossin.
