Get a tattoo and help CF charity

The Tattoo Shop located on Jervis Street in Ardee, will open its doors on 24th August for Cystic Fibrosis. The event will begin at 11am, to 6pm, with a selection of tattoos to choose from priced at €30. 

The event is being organised by Lynsey McGeer who works in 'The Tattoo Shop' who's aunt Kelli Maples has Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

'Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (CFI) have always been there for KellI throughout her life, they have helped her on numerous occassions and we would like to give something back.' Lesley added. ' When Kelli was born my grandparents didn't know anything about CF but CFI were always there to help.'

 Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited chronic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system of about 1200 children and adults in the Ireland (70,000 worldwide).  A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; an obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
