Seven up for Tony Martin

Meath trainer Tony Martin took his tally of winners at Galway to seven when the John Breslin-owned Busted Tycoon re-appeared at Ballybrit for the second time this week and won the concluding two-mile 50-70 handicap.

Cheered home by the punters the 4/5 favourite provided jockey Shane Shortall with his first success on the flat in Ireland.

Busted Tycoon won over the same distance (two miles) at the festival on Tuesday and may run again today in a mares handicap hurdle.

That was the only Meath winner yesterday at Galway.

The Tote returns for yesterday showed another increase with an extra race a factor. The returns were €390,630 (2012 - €327,221 for seven races).
