A short play written by a group of Oldcastle writers will be performed this Saturday night as a fundraiser for Irish Dogs for the Disabled.

'Reflections', a play by Equivox writers group will be staged on Saturday, in St Brides Church, Oldcastle, at 8pm.

'Reflections' is a short play especially written to help raise funds for the charity and the cover charge is €5.

This is the first staging of this play and the writers are confident that it is thought provoking and engaging.

Three actors from Millrace Drama Group, Eddie Brady, Liz O'Hanlon and Darragh Smith have kindly offered to act out the work.

“It's a scary thing for us all as a group to put our work out there, especially in the form of a play and we would really appreciate your support as it will be a little embarrassing for us all if nobody turns up and will destroy our self esteem a writers,” says spokesperson Paula Kelly Melia.

She said they are grateful to the Le Cheile Festival Committee for supporting their artistic endeavours.

The play is only twenty minutes long and Aidan, a well known Oldcastle assistance dog will be there as their as a special guest, giving away free cuddles.
