Motorcyclist killed in Oldcastle

A motorcyclist in his early 50s was killed in a road collision in north Meath on Thursday evening.

The victim died after his motorcycle collided with a car at Millbrook Road in the town shortly after 5pm. The female driver of the car involved in the crash was uninjured.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out today.

The road at the scene was closed by gardai to facilitate a garda forensic collision investigation to take place.
