McGuinness goes close at Dunsany

Navan Road Club cyclist Andrew McGuinness narrowly missed out on top spot in the senior A4 race over 51km at the Dunsany Grand Prix on Sunday.

McGuinness put in a strong performance, but he was just pipped at the post by top cyclist David Halpin from the Orwell Wheelers.

McGuinness showed plenty of promise with this strong display and he will be looking to build on the showing in upcoming events.

Navan cyclist John Kenny put in an impressive display in the Shay Elliott race promoted by Bray Wheelers.

Upgraded to A1 status this season Kenny was up with the leading group for a lengthy spell, but some mechanical problems caused him to lose time.
