€1.5 million cannabis seizure in Kells
Kells Garda Drug Unit, assisted by the Regional Support Unit, seized cannabis plants and herb with an estimated street value of €1.5m last night.
As part of intelligence led operation, a search operation was carried out on a business premises last in the Kells area. During the course of this search a large Cannabis cultivation operation was discovered, with the cannabis plants and cannabis herb subject to analysis.
A 53 year-old man and a 43 year-old woman were arrested at the scene and detained at Kells Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. Investigations are continuing.
