Countdown to Pink Day at Navan RFC

Navan Rugby Club is making the final preparations for Saturday's Pink Day, its annual charity event that has raised over €50,000 to date for the Irish Cancer Society’s Action Breast Cancer campaign.

The event will kick off with a series of junior matches from 10am on Saturday, followed by a series of fun family activities on the Old Balreask grounds. The usual pre-match lunch will take place at 1pm in the clubhouse with both members and visitors encouraged to take part. The highlight of the day will see Navan’s finest fifteen take on the might of Suttonians rugby club in the final All Ireland League fixture of the season at 2.30pm, with the players each being escorted on to the pitch by their very own ‘pretty in pink’ mascot from the underage girls teams.

The newest addition to the Rugby Club Pink Day  will be the best dressed lasy contest which will see Grainne Seoige choose a winner for the inaugural contest at half time of the main match. Prizes available on the day including all expenses paid trips to the Heineken Cup Final in the Aviva Stadium. All support is very welcome for these fantastic charities and with lots of activities for all the family, it is sure to be a day to remember with an open invitation for all.

The traditional jersey auction will take place in the clubhouse after the match along with a raffle supported by local businesses and live music all day from the very talented and local all girl group The Honey Badgers performing a selection of songs from their hugely successful gig in Swan Lane, which raised thousands of euro for Breast Cancer Ireland.
