Meath manager Cillian Farrell and selector Nick Fitzgerald are urging supporters to travel to Newbridge on Sunday.

Supporters urged to back hurlers title bid on Sunday

Meath hurling boss Cillian Farrell is urging club members who are not involved in the opening rounds of the football championships on Sunday to get over to Newbridge for the NHL Div 2B final to provide some backing for the Royal County.

'We have a very talented team and it would be great for the players if we had a sizeable support at Newbridge on Sunday for the NHL Div 2B final,' Farrell told meathchchronicle.ie

'These players have worked very hard all year and most of them are around the 20 - 21 mark, so it is a very young team.

'If we could a few hundred supporters to Newbridge and plenty of flags and green and gold colours it would be a great boost for everyone,' he added.

The Meath players have produced some impressive performances this year including a fine away win against Down in the first round of the league.
