Meath minors start on Saturday

Meath minor footballers will have their first competitive outing of 2013 on Saturday, a day after the ban on collective training ends. Meath lost three finals last year, all to Dublin, the Leinster MFL, Leinster MFC and All-Ireland MFC. Meath will open their 2013 Leinster MFL campaign against Wexford at either Páirc Táilteann or Dunganny this Saturday. That will be followed by a home tie against Wicklow the following Saturday and a midweek trip to Carlow on Wednesday 13th February to complete the group phase of the competition. There are are three groups, Meath are in group two and if they win the group will play the winner of group one (Kildare, Offaly, Laois or Louth) in a semi-final on 16th February. The winner of group three (Dublin, Longford, Tipperary, Westmeath) will go straight to the final on 23rd February. FIXTURES GROUP TWO 2nd Feb: Meath v Wexford; Carlow v Wicklow. 9th Feb: Meath v Wicklow; Wexford v Carlow. 13th Feb: Carlow v Meath; Wicklow v Wexford.
