Former minister on board the GAA Board

Former Education and Transport minister Noel Dempsey has been handed a role in sorting out the finances of Meath GAA Co Board. The finances showed a turnaround of close to €250,000 with expenditure exceeding income by over €180,000 at last December's annual convention. The convention was unable to elect a treasurer last December, but Noel Dempsey's brother, Brendan took over the role of treasurer at the adjourned convention last week. On Monday night Noel Dempsey was named as a member of the newly-elected finance committee along with the treasurer, Dessie Murtagh, Conor Tormey,Cyril Creavin, Brendan Cummins, Francis Flynn and Richard Harrahill.
