Duleek manager Dave Rogers

Senior Cup game looking good

Tomorrow night's historic Leinster Senior Cup game in Ratoath looks likely to go ahead as the pitch is currently in good condition. This will be the first Leinster Senior Cup game featuring two Meath teams and also a first time out in the competition for both clubs - Duleek and hosts Ratoath Harps. Ratoath Harps from the Leinster Senior League and Duleek from the Meath & District League will battle for a place in the next round of the prestigious competition. The game will kick-off at 8pm and will mark a first appearance in the competition for both sides. Ratoath Harps qualify as an intermediate side, but Duleek, a junior team from the MDL earned their place by virtue of playing in last season's Leinster Junior Cup decider. The Leinster-based League of Ireland clubs will enter the competition at a later date so there is a big incentive for both teams to win tomorrow night. Former Shelbourne player Dave Rogers is in his first term as the manager of Duleek - he played for Woodview Celtic (Dundalk) in the MDL Premier last season. The current holders of the trophy - Shamrock Rovers.
