Santa wins St Vincent de Paul run

Santa was first home this morning in the annual St Vincent de Paul run through the streets of Navan. The annual fundraiser was started (sort of) by Cllr Francis Deane and Meath senior football manager Mick O'Dowd who had to endure a probing interview by the affable Paddy Pryle. Meath footballers turned up in large numbers to collect money along the route, not for the Co Board as one onlooker suggested, and also to take part in the race. Each participant was decked out in red and white with many parents and their children taking part. "This is a great occasion and it's a good cause," commented Cllr Deane who was quickly away from the start. See video (click on link if necessary) http://youtu.be/UQr8GC-lV60
