Geraghty shows class at Sandown

Barry Geraghty continues to deliver the big-race winners and following his success lst week with Bobs Worth in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury, the Drumree man was back on board another top shot in Sprinter Sacre for the Sportingbet Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown yesterday Geraghty duly delivered another excellent performance as the Nicky Henderson-trained Sprinter Sacre won the two-mile grade one contest comfortably. Trainer Paul Nicholls had Ruby Walsh and Sanctuaire bidding for glory, but that duo could only finish third. Geraghty challenged for the lead at the Pond Fence three from home and the final two fences proved no problem for the brilliant six-year-old which is now odds-on for the Champion Chase at Cheltenham next March. Geraghty completed a treble on the card at Sandown when he also won the opening race, a novices' hurdle, with Golden Hoof and the garde one Henry VIII Novices' Chase with Captain Conan. Geraghty will be on duty at Punchestown today.
